Looking south, I thought I was going to get soaked, as the clouds looked menacing and the air looked really hazy (and I didn't have my rain-jacket with me). Then the wind hit me (literally!), and I realized the 'haze' wasn't rain, but blowing dust. I had to stop a number of times to wipe the grit from my eyes (even with sunglasses on), and was only able to make 5-10mph, getting blown around on Fremont Ave N! A truly epic bike-ride! I certainly felt the relatively dramatic cool-down last week prior to the arrival of the front.<br /><br />By the way, all one has to do is look at my tomatoes to see what a nice late spring we have had. In 18 years, they have never been this robust by the first day of summer. I put mine out at the end of April when we had that heat wave. Yes, I know you advised not to, but I always put them out at that time. I have to because they get too tall for my window sills.
