Snow Update

The latest models suggest that tonight and tomorrow morning there will be light snow in the Cascades (a few inches at most), and perhaps a dusting SE of the Olympics...and maybe a few flurries over the Puget Sound lowlands....check out the 24-h snow forecast ending 4 PM tomorrow.

  1. Cliff, that map sure is peculiar. Why would the only snow being predicted for Puget Sound Area lies within the Seattle City limits, especially around the Downtown area? Is it hinting at a minor burst of lake (or sound)effect snow, or, more likely, just trying to tell us if a CZ were to form, it would likely be right over Seattle?

  2. I agree with Anonymous. It seems odd that there is a small area of possible flurries over Seattle

  3. I would love nothing more than to see everyone outside of Seattle miss out one this one --- 95% of the time, everyone outside of Seattle gets way more snow. Not that a measly quarter-inch is proper vindication, but still, let's stick in to the eastside and north sound for once!

  4. Well, I suspect that the model just happened to put those flurries over Seattle and that there is no guarantee Seattle will see anything.

  6. So, Cliff ~ Does it look like we might have any windstorms headed our way in the long term forcast? Towards the end of next week it looks like we should be getting more rain in the lowlands & snow in the mountains....Just wondering if it will come in with wind?

  20. Spitting tiny rain drops/snow? here on west-side of Queen Anne Hill - good to be safely home - oh, so hard to predict - there is a place on West McGraw Street where always the rain turns into snow - it is between 5th and 6th West - Wonderfully remarkable as it happens year after year. Looking forward to Spring, sun, warmth - the tips of the early crocus and snowdrops have punched their way through the cold, clammy soil. Hope ... Madeleine
