Convergence zone has set up already
The convergence zone is already evident over the N. Sound (see radar image). And nice rainshadowing to the south. The showers are also evident over the western slopes of the Cascades. The visible satellite image shows the CZ band as well and offshore you see a field of instability clouds...heading our way that will reinforce the CZ. The best convergence zone events occur in such an environment.

ReplyDeleteHey Cliff, Since I`m off from work Fri/Sat(those are my normal days off), which day you think would the better day to hike at Tiger mountain??
ReplyDeleteCause to me and from what I see so far in the models, and also read from the Seattle AFD, is that Sat may be the best day as the forecasted ridge will be nearly on top of us..
Andy...Saturday will be better....cliff
ReplyDeleteThanks Cliff. I`m still think`n Sat myself! :o)
ReplyDeleteCliff: I spend a lot of time tending plants out of doors. I remember your show a while back about global warming. When was the last month where the Seattle area averaged ABOVE normal temperatures? Two years ago?
ReplyDeleteI'm heading east to the Deschutes Canyon rails to trail, so it doesn't matter. It's supposed to be 80 or by Sat.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like we've had more of these convergence zone rains in the past few years than I remember happening in the early 80's. We used to joke that only tourists carried an umbrella, and now I do!
ReplyDeleteIt was a nasty ride home on my bike in the rain Wednesday night. Can't remember being that soaked in a long time.
