My new podcast is out. I talk about the windy forecast for this weekend and a very strong front that will cross western Washington on Saturday night. And loads of snow in the Cascades above roughly 4000 ft.
But the podcast doesn't stop there. After the intermission I describe why there are wind gusts. Why does wind ebb and flow? You will be gust-informed by the end.
Just don't like the Podcasts, Cliff. Wish you would return to your outstanding blog instead.

ReplyDeleteI do agree with your stating that gusts of wind generally can be about a factor of 1.4(40%) higher than the sustained winds of a storm...for example, the sustained wind at the Seattle-Boeing Field location on Columbus Day, 1962..was 50mph; but gusts in the Seattle area were being recorded in the 70-80mph range, with Renton experiencing a gust of 100mph!...I remember that storm very well...so you are very correct, when saying that in some instances, that 1.4 gust factor can be exceeded...it was on that day!

However, my father does interact with the community. I know his friends are mature and dignified africa america.
