Why are their contrails in the sky? And the weekend forecast. All in my latest podcast

The Northwest sky this morning is full of contrails.

You can see them in the visible satellite image at 9:46 AM this morning over southern Washington and northern Oregon (they are the thin lines)

Why do contrails exist and why so many today?  Can contrails change the climate?    And what about the claims of chemtrails?

All of these questions are answered in my podcast today (see links below or on the left panel of this blog).

And for my Patreon supporters, I will have a special in-person Zoom session tomorrow morning (Saturday, April 3) to answer your questions and talk about a special topic.

  1. If aircraft eventually move to hydrogen fuel, will that increase contrails while decreasing CO2?

  2. Are we actually even going to have a decent conversation regarding this phenomenon. My guess it's Highly unlikely. These are not contrails. Contrails completely disappear. This is Geoengineering. Look it up. It's another name for weather modification or minipulation. End of story.

    1. Agreed, 'contrails' EVAPORATE, these 'chemtrails' just 'disperse' with who knows what. But 'shhhhh', meteorologists must provide cover for it.

    2. You are correct, and 'no' they will not discuss it.

  3. Cliff, if the contrails lead to net warming, that is another argument against injecting sulfate into the upper atmosphere to reflect sunlight and cool the planet! It will presumably reflect IR light downward like clouds do. Not to mention producing a washed-out sky. I was against this idea from the moment I heard about it.

No, the inescapable answer is, we just simply have to wean ourselves off fossil fuels.

  4. I don't know how you do it, Cliff. Years of education, training and research as a Meteorologist allowed you to produce a great explanation of the contrail phenomena, only to be told by someone who watched a YouTube video that you are wrong and to "Look it up." Thank you for continuing to "science" in the face of conspiracy and bad information.
